Matangi Moments

More than a month ago we could finally continue our 'Matangi Moments' series again. Due to all the measures, we had not been able to play our own series in The Hague and Amsterdam for more than a year. We picked up the beautiful famous Schubert Quintet with 'rising star' cellist Benjamin Kruithof. How wonderful it was to play in our own city The Hague and of course also in the Amstelkerk in Amsterdam, where we have been playing for such a long time that it feels like our second home.
Where we could still have a nice chat with our audience in the Nieuwe Kerk, it was not possible in the Amstelkerk, because we had to rush to studio 'de Hallen' where we joined the live broadcast of Podium Witteman. After recovering from a mad ride through Amsterdam, we played the second part of the Schubert Quintet. What a joy to be able to play it so many times in such a short time! The drink after this wild Schubert weekend was well deserved.
In mid-February, our next 'Matangi Moments' is planned with the program 'The Usual Suspects' in which we will play the music of two of the most important string quartet composers; the beautiful Sonnenaufgang by Joseph Haydn and the brilliant Rosamunde quartet by Franz Schubert.
With such a program it has all the ingredients for a wonderful weekend. We hope to see you there!
