The String Quartet - Drawings

In the last lockdown, we commissioned good friend and artist Gerard de Bruyne to make twelve drawings for a set of postcards. The result is 12 postcards in a beautifully designed folder. To send, give or treasure.

Long lines, careful lines, lines that question each other, hard strokes, short strokes, pointed, scratchy, abrasive, breaking down and building up, chaos, order, silence, funny, serious, warm but also icy and unpleasant, soft and sensual.

 All this and much more is the canvas of a string quartet. (Gerard de Bruyne)

When Gerard de Bruyne was asked to make a series of drawings by Matangi, this canvas formed the basis of his drawing.
