Typical Matangi month

Typical Matangi month
From Friday evening 14 to 16 October we will be on a journey with Matangi. Not for a holiday, but a musical journey and you can join us. It starts with a romantic program in Reeuwijk, where we take you to Beethoven's Vienna, Mendelssohn's Leipzig and a double destination of Prague and the United States with Antonin Dvorak. On Saturday October 15, the destination is the Bimhuis in Amsterdam where we take the audience on an inner journey with Ruins and Remains. Film music for the soul, composed by Wolfert Brederode and performed by Matangi, Joost Lijbaart and the composer himself. The CD that was released this week at ECM, will be presented that evening. A must for those in for a nice party during this weekend trip.
We close our journey on Sunday with a trip to the past. In De Doelen in Rotterdam we will commemorate Willem Pijper in a theatrical concert. Together with the Viride Quartet, Matangi will revive all the string quartets of this 'forgotten' Dutch composer.
This weekend can be traveled entirely by train. Good for the climate and for the soul!
