Matangi meets Mezzo

Opera will probably be one of the last live performing arts forms that will be possible again in its ultimate form.

Therefore for now: an Ode to the Opera in chamber music form. For the audience that misses the opportunity to attend live (opera) performances.

Mezzo-soprano Esther Kuiper and the Matangi Quartet will perform an opera recital with arias and instrumental pieces based on well-known and lesser-known operas from all times and regions, from Handel to Wagner, from Ruggiero to Isolde.

In between, the musicians give a short introduction to the pieces, thus immersing the audience in an accessible theatrical opera experience. Arias and instrumental pieces by Mozart, Handel, Meyerbeer, Tchaikovsky, Verdi and Wagner.
